What People's Say About Place

Food was absolutely Fantastic!! Service was great. Food reads like a high end restaurant but interior is more laid back. Bisque, OG Grille, Voodoo Scallops and Swordfish special were delicious. Will definitely be back and Highly recommend if you are looking for a great food and a taste bud experience. Did not have but their 7layer Chocolate cake is a feast for 3.

One of Oak Island's most popular dining spots. Very attentive and friendly service. The seafood dishes were perfectly prepared and very tasty. Fresh ingredients make for fresh dishes. Good wine selections.

This was the first restaurant we've been to in a beach town that has actually been worth going to. The food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere--all amazing and very much worth the price. For drinks, I ordered the Shake Your Tree, which came with a peach ring garnish, and my boyfriend ordered the Purple Haze. Both drinks were very good but the aftertaste of the Purple Haze is what stood out to me. To start we ordered the Caesar salad and the sunset bisque, and wow. The salad was big enough for us to share and came with a fried cheese "patty." We savored the bisque until the end of our meal--the best seafood bisque I've ever had. I got the ribs with potato cakes and my boyfriend got the NY strip with mashed potatoes. They give you two racks of fall off the bone ribs and the NY strip was THICCCK. The potato cakes were very good but the mashed potatoes are the way to go. The only gripe I have is that it was pretty loud in there but it was a full house. You get what you pay for and its worth every penny. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in town.

Went for my second time last night. I ordered the ribs and grits platter. The food was delicious. The ribs were very well flavored and the meat was falling off the bone. The grits were a good side dish with the ribs. My girlfriend ordered the Herb roasted chicken dish. She was excited to eat that dish again since she ordered it the first time we visited. Unfortunately she wasn't a impressed as i was. Her chicken was dry and not well seasoned. On another positive note, our server was very good. Even though it was really busy when we arrived she was very receptive to our needs and provided great service. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we ordered the chocolate 7 layer cake, which was delicious!

Salt 64 is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Truly unforgettable. Every single dish was perfection, and I can honestly say it was some of the best food of my life. We arrived before our reservation and sat at the bar — the bartenders were happy, cheerful, and made us feel welcome right away. Drinks were strong, balanced, and just plain good, setting the tone for the night. The crab fritters were crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside — absolute heaven. The shrimp pasta was rich, balanced, and bursting with flavor, the kind of dish you want to savor slowly because you don’t want it to end. The tiny lobster tails? To die for. Sweet, buttery, perfectly cooked — I could have eaten them all night. And don’t skip the crack toast — it’s not just a gimmick name, it’s really damn good food. On top of the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and everything felt crafted with care. This is the kind of place that reminds you why going out to eat can be an experience, not just a meal.

I had a fantastic dining experience at the restaurant! It was bustling when we arrived a few minutes early for our 7:15 reservation. We decided to slide over to the bar and enjoy a cocktail while waiting for our table. For appetizers, we ordered the crack toast and ill-tempered tails, both of which were perfect starters. The main courses were fantastic as well. I had the shrimp and grits, which were excellent and abundant with shrimp. I also tasted the salmon, NY strip, and the flounder special, all of which were outstanding. The dessert menu was impressive, and we enjoyed a special crepe with lavender matcha and a coconut cake, both of which were delicious. I would definitely visit again!

Salt64 is great! Salt64 is a true standout and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the Oak Island are. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere struck the perfect balance of stylish and comfortable, setting the tone for a fun and memorable evening. The menu offers a thoughtful but nice variety and every dish we tried was prepared with care and presented beautifully. The flavors were balanced and fresh, making it clear that quality ingredients are a priority here, which we love! We ordered a mix of appetizers, entrées, and cocktails, and each one was consistently excellent. The drinks were creative without being overdone and the food portions were generous but still flavorful. Our server was sweet, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu which always helps! He really elevated the overall experience. What stood out most is how Salt64 manages to deliver on every front: ambiance, service, and cuisine… making it more than just a meal, but an experience worth repeating. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a celebratory dinner, or simply treating yourself to a great evening out! I look forward to coming back and trying even more of the menu next time. Thanks for everything!
